I never would have thought I would experience all that I have during the past 6 months. To make a long story short it has been full of FEAR. If you are new here, you can click here to read the beginning of Bentley's (my daughter) story. Fear definitely paralyzed me when I first found out about Bentley's heart condition. I do know that our God is a BIG GOD and a GOOD GOD and I put ALL my TRUST in HIM. But fear often gets a stronghold on me to know that the worse part of Bentley's heart experience has yet to come. I found this video on CrossPoint's website, and loved it!

Fear is something I think a lot of us battle.. how do you keep fear from taking over?

*** I have a lot for tomorrows post: Pictures, thank yous, and more!

  1. Great video!! I'm new to your blog and just read over Bentley's journey. I know where you are, I have been there, my son Colin is four now and was born with HLHS. He does not have the left side of his heart. He's completed the series of surgereis, four open-heart surgeries in all, plus 4 other surgeries for reflux, and other minor things. I'll be praying for God to continue to bless Bentley and for a very smooth road for you all.

  2. I can't watch the video at work, but I will be sure to watch it when I get home. I have learned to trust in God and set my fears in his hands, although since we are all humans I do have my share of fearful moments, like I fear I will never concieve...fear that I will lose my patience and my strength and become that once very scared and very angry person I once was along time ago. But overall, God has really shown me strength through this difficult time, he has given me patience and a tremendious amount of Faith! I know we will all have our moments, it's normal. I am praying for Bentley, and for you as well as your husband and your other kidos...I know that God will show you the same strength as he has shown me, I know that he will wrap his arms around you and carry your family through this journey! All things are possible with God!!!!! God Bless you and yours!!!

    Tiff :)

  3. PRAY!!! Know that God hears you! I can't even imagine being in your situation so I can't sit here and say "oh dont worry" bc you are a mom and you will, but just be strong for her and let God do the rest. She seems to be a fighter so she will probably show everyone up :)

  4. Putting your faith in God is all you can do. He has a plan and a reason for everything he gives us. If he brings us to it, he will get us through it.I know its hard not to worry and wonder what the next day will bring. When Audree was in the NICU I was scared out of my mind. She had to be on a ventilator for 5 days because she couldn't breath on her own. It was the hardest thing Ive ever had to deal with, but God pulled us all through it and here she is today 13 months old and just living her life to the fullest. Little Bentley seems like such a fighter, and she has proven that by everything she has overcome. She will continue to fight and get through this!! Your family is DEF in our prayers!!

  5. Gosh, this must be something that a lot of us are dealing with lately...A couple of the other ladies who's blogs I read have been posting recently about fear. Seems like the Lord is showing us just how much we need to rely on him with everthing we have and put our full faith and trust in Him...such a hard thing to do sometimes.

On another note, I noticed last night on Kelly's blog that she added Miss Bentley to her prayer cool is that??? Isn't it great to know that the people of God are rallying together to pray for your sweet girl? God is so good!!!

  6. This is such a great video! And I believe I was sent to your blog to be inspired by Bentley's story in a time that has been a personal emotional whirlwind for me. I went to church for the first time yesterday and I finally felt a little bit of this fear I've carried all my life, is finally melting off. I'm ready, I'm ready to live the life God has for me. Thank you for posting this!

  7. My 8 year old also has TOF and she had her surgery at 5 months. It was scary but it turned out just fine. She still has some minor issues with her heart, but she's just fine. No medicines and no precautions. Hope that helps! Your baby will be just fine. My child also has Down synrome so the heart condition seemed minor in comparison to that.
