GOD'S SPECIAL LITTLE HEARTS

So, I received the confirmation email this afternoon. I have been approached by Katie with http://www.godsspecialhearts.org/ in regards to designing their website. She and a few others started this organization in 2006 to help families affected by CHD (congenital heart defect). As you know this hits close to home and is super close to my heart considering Bentley had her open heart surgery exactly 4 weeks ago. I was ecstatic when I read this email. There is not much locally that I can do to help others with CHD, there are no support groups, no organizations.. absolutely nothing within an hour away. There are so many of you that have helped us during our time of need with Bentley's journey (that we are so grateful for, I could not have made it without support), so I am thrilled that I now have this one opportunity to give back and help others. I do realize that this will not directly help ones with CHD, but it will help this organization that does so much for these families. I am happy about that, and I do plan on doing more in the future, but this is a start. Sorry to keep you in the dark, I just didn't want to say anything until they confirmed it. I know this probably doesn't seem very big to some.. but it is to me.. it is HUGE!!!

If you get a minute, take a look at their website and check out all that they do.. it will look different soon!!!

I will let you know when their new site goes live with the new look...

  4. This is such a wonderful organization! They helped us a lot during our difficult time with Trista. They sent us meal cards for the cafeteria and a wonderful package to the hospital. What a blessing they are! Can't wait to see the new website!

  8. That is a very special thing for you to be able to do! And judging by the way your own blog looks, I think you will give it a much needed facelift :)

As for the bow, I never emailed them (I actually just forgot!). I ordered the biggest one (of course!). Hopefully it will come soon... I need to find fabric to get outfits made to match :)

  12. Hello,
I came across your blog and wanted to say hello. I am a 37 year old CHD survivor (Tetralogy of Fallot) and if I can be of any assistance or answer any questions for you , please feel free to contact me. I am glad that you all are involved in a support group as I think it helps to surround yourself with people who have walked the same walk. Bentley is beautiful and I'll be stopping by periodically to see how she is doing.
    Love and heart hugs,
    Lauren

  20. I found your blog while looking up the movie "Something the Lord Made". Your daughter had her TOF surgery the day after my son had his. He was 10 weeks old. I can so relate to your blog entries about your daughter. My son is also doing very well.
