GOOD NEWS & BAD NEWS - UPDATE

Good News: We are leaving in 2 weeks for Bentley's open heart surgery.

Bad News: We are leaving in 2 weeks for Bentley's open heart surgery.

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7

Thank you for reminding me of this Misty. We have good days.. we have bad days.. this is the hardest thing we have ever had to face, but we know God is protecting her.. and He will protect her on May 20.

  2. That is such a cute picture of her. The fuzzy bow is almost bigger than her little face. Too cute. You can tell she is such a fighter. She is a strong cookie mommy.

Its hard, I know, because when I think of THAT day, I feel anxious for her as well. Then I start praying and I feel peaceful.

This girl is in GOOD hand. Amen.

God Bless and have a great day friend.

  4. Hey sweetie! I've been thinking about you and your family alot lately! I am praying so hard for you! It's a very strange thing for me, my wedding anniversary is on May 20th and if you ask anyone who knows me I seriously count down the days until my anniversary, however this year it's different--I don't want May 20th to come any sooner than it has to for your purpose...I know you are ready in a way, but not in another...I'm so thankful to have found your blog and have been given the chance to pray for your family and grow closer to you! You have opened my eyes in so many ways!!!! If you need anything, please don't hesititate to call me, text me or email me sweetie! I will and am always here for you!
    Love-Hugs and Prayers,

  12. Hey there,

  13. Hi Crystal!

You don't know me, but I got to your blog from Kelly's Korner. I'm almost 34 weeks pregnant, and we were told at about 20 weeks that our baby had an Interrupted Aortic Arch with VSD. I know it's not exactly the same situation or diagnosis, but it kind of sounds similar to what you were told about Bentley, just opposite, if that makes sense??

Well, I just wanted to encourage you that God has a plan to bless your family and that He still heals and performs miracles! We've already seen proof of this in our situation because our little girl's heart started out with the left side being normal sized and the right side being twice as big...now it's SYMMETRICAL!!

Some scripture that has encouraged me lately comes from James 6:16 ("the prayer of faith will heal the sick!"), and Mark 11:24 ("whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it WILL be yours"). I know that God is going to get the glory out of your situation, and please know that I will be praying and believing that Bentley is healed!

    Much love,
    Lindsey

  14. Hi Crystal...
The friend who I referred to does not have a traditional "blog", but does keep a "CarePage". I have a link to it on my blog... he is under "Zachary John Hagerott". I am not 100% sure, but I think one of his defects is the same that Bentley has. He has more than one defect though. He had his first open heart surgery about a week after birth and has recovered very well from that surgery. You would never even know he had a heart defect by looking at him! He will have a 2nd open heart surgery in June at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Like all of you "heart moms", I stand in awe of Michelle (Zachy's mom) as she handles such terrifying and uncertain circumstances with tremendous faith, courage and grace. I will be praying for you as these two weeks approach and I will be checking in on Bentley frequently. I added her cute little face (her button) to my blog as I have several "heart mom" friends who will want to "meet" your sweet little girl too!

And tell your hubby... "Rock Chalk"! My husband and I met our seniour year at KU. After we were married for about 2 years, we moved to Austin and my husband went back to school full time at the University of Texas to get his MBA. Try as he did, he could never become a full blown Longhorn fan! He's true blue and now that we are living back in Kansas, he has splurged on season football and basketball tickets! He loves his Jayhawks and has adequately "brainwashed" my 4 year old son :)

Anyway, it's nice "meeting" you and although I can't relate to what you are going through, I will be praying for you because my mommy heart breaks for any mother who has to watch their child have any kind of surgery... let alone open heart surgery. I know God will be protecting her though and through the human hands who operate, will heal her with a whole and healthy heart!

God Bless You (my big-bow loving blog friend!),
    Danielle
